Top ten reasons giving birth sounds more fun than having a migraine

 10. Epidurals work very reliably and consistently; NSAIDs don't.

9. They both last about a day, but labor pains don't come back a week later.

8. Labor pains generally don't come with an aura of visual hallucinations.

7. We actually know what causes labor pains, and we can treat them based on this knowledge.

6 You won't ever just start giving birth one day for no apparent reason.

5. You will never have recurrent chronic labor pains on a daily basis.

4. No one will ever blame your labor pains on stress or depression.

3. No one will ever doubt that your labor pains are genuine.

2. Most workplaces offer maternity leave; what accommodations are offered to people with migraine?

1. At the end of labor, you get something really cool: A baby.

Maybe labor hurts more, I don't know. But for all these reasons, I think women need to stop complaining about labor, especially to those of us who suffer from migraines.

Your assessment is singularly unfair to the practice of sucking balls.

I sure hope your migraines get better. I have friends who suffer and my aches for them. They just shut themselves in a dark room for a couple of days. So very sad.

@pnrj - Sorry about that. Ummm...let me try again:  Migraines suck more than anything can suck.

I give up. They just suck.

Babies don't ruin vaginas for ever either... o_o;

And I'm pretty sure getting the baby is not a cool outcome; sure its cute when its not shitting itself, crying, drooling, throwing fits, and keeping you up at night for 18 years.

Child birth is obviously far worse. D;

I disagree. I have heard of (although not experienced) women very close to their due dates going to the doctor because they are "in labor" and being told to go home because it was a false alarm.

It's actually not the baby per se which appeals to me, but rather the prospect of progeny.

Well there's a difference between being in labor and having contractions and thinking you're in labor.

Also, no one doubts that the pain is real. Many people do in fact say that migraines are "just in your mind."

Migraines don't give you:

1) Stretch marks
2) 18 years of child-rearing responsibilities
3) College tuition bills
4) Endless trips to the doctor
5) An anchor holding you back from having fun every day for YEARS
6) Marital stress
7) Risk of death (to my knowledge, anyways)
8) Back pain (again, to my knowledge)
9) Extra weight that is unlikely to ever be shed
10) Rampant irrational cravings and chemically-induced mood swings
11) The possibility of your hips not moving back into their proper place afterwards
12) "Are we there yet?"
13) "Why?" or "Why not?" over and over again
14) "But I WAAAAAAAANT IIIIIIIITTTT!!!!!!"
15) Diaper changing
16) Sagging and leaking breasts
17) Hair pulling
18) A stranger staring at your private parts while they stretch to inhuman size and sometimes even break
19) Constant crying
20) Being thrown up on... often in public.
21) Being completely and utterly responsible for the well-being and upbringing of another human being that is undeveloped and eventually hell-bent on doing the exact opposite of what you tell them to. Failure in this delicate mission, for which this outcome is uncomfortably likely and there is no useful guide because all of the existing guides contradict one another, will grant you at best a lifetime of scorn and resentment and at worst jail time and/or suicidal tendencies.
22) Constant juggling of your schedule to make sure that someone is home to take care of the "bundle of joy"
23) A ruined sex life
24) Fits of crying, hitting, shouting, and/or general unruliness for often times no reason at all... many times resulting in, yes, migraines :)

And this isn't even getting into the people who give birth to sickly and/or mentally handicapped children. I really don't know how those people do it.

By the way, according to everyone I know who has had a kid (and that I have bothered to ask or has offered), epidurals only do so much. The pain is still tremendous.
